Working In the Lab
Working In the Lab

The expert in anything was once a beginner.  The Health Science students at The Technology Center, enrolled in Pharmacy Tec are embarking upon a journey towards a career that will not only have them always needed, but appreciated. Once the students have completed our Program while obtaining certifications, they will be ready to obtain a position in health care. An essential component of the program that prepares our students for such opportunities, are the internships.  Through internships, students develop and learn real world work experiences. Also through these experiences, students develop the hard, soft and transferrable skills that are essential for success in the ever-changing job market. Caitlin Herriot and Taylor Smalls are developing those skills that will be beneficial them in the future. During this particular experience, students are at a Clinical site preparing bags for patients in the hospital. The students arrive at the clinic at 6:45 am prepared to work and willing to learn from Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. It is definitely essential for the students to develop employability skills that will guide them on the past to success in their chosen career. Being mindful and aware of, while striving to achieve the qualities needed are just as important as acquiring knowledge and skills required in their chosen health care profession.
